Brietta and Jeneen
What is Emeridot Forest? This website was started by Brietta in May, 2010 from the beautiful forests of interior Alaska. It is for all things Brietta--the things I love and would like to share. The nature photos and stories you will find here come from my own experiences in my neck of the woods--with some added information found through my research. You will also find essays, poetry, and other thoughts on God, politics, and life.
Origin of the Name In 2000, an adorable dark, fluffy, green-eyed kitten came into my life, and I named her Jeneen. She became my closest friend and we spent ten wonderful years together. I lost my sweetie in May, 2010--not a moment goes by that I don't miss her. I eagerly await the day when my Lord will return and wake up my baby and I'll hold her in my arms again. Until then, I'll keep doing what I did before--standing up for what's right, enjoying life, and with God's help, showing others what He's really all about. So what does the name have to do with Jeneen? As I mentioned, she had green, green eyes. They weren't emerald, but they weren't quite peridot, either. So one of the many nicknames I gave her was "Emeridot Eyes." As for the forest, it's hard to explain--I live in the middle of the forest, it's green (like her eyes), it's beautiful, and I love it just as I love her.
About the Creator Brietta Kiele lives in Fairbanks, Alaska with her family, which includes cats, dogs, people, and various wild neighbors. She enjoys kids, animals, writing (historical fiction, music, essays, and poetry), reading, researching, and learning about nature, among other things. She also enjoys making new friends, laughing, and studying the Bible, getting to know God better.
